Paramount Pictures has made tweaks to its marketing campaign for the Tom Cruise film Jack Reacher in the wake of the deadly school shooting in Newtown, Conn.

And while the studio won’t say what changes it has made, it appears to have cut scenes from commercials that depict Reacher firing a semi-automatic weapon.

Reacher and the Quentin Tarantino slave-era buddy action film Django Unchained have come under close scrutiny, given the gun violence just prior to their release dates. Tarantino has dismissed the idea that violence in movies can affect the real world.
