Since Yoko Ono and her son Sean Lennon founded Artists Against Fracking in August last year, they’ve tried to make the oil and gas drilling process a national issue.

As part of that push, Lennon, Ono and other celebrities like Susan Sarandon and Gasland director Josh Fox have begun a tour of high-fracking areas in Pennsylvania and New York.

Rolling Stone went along and took photographs of the tour, as the artists spoke to residents whose lives have been affected by fracking.
