Deadly rainstorms linked to climate change

Droughts have gripped the U.S. recently, but across the globe another sign of climate change is rearing its head: Deadly rains have struck across Asia, Australia and North America in recent years.

And according to a new study, those rains are the result of climate change.

“Rainfall extremes are increasing on average globally,” lead researcher Seth Westra of the University of Adelaide says. The study shows correlations between rising atmospheric temperature and frequency and intensity of extreme rainfall.
