The Republican Party is too old, too white and out of touch with average Americans.
That was basically the conclusion of The Growth and Opportunity Project, the report published by the Republican National Committee on the party’s losses in the 2012 election.
To become relevant to American voters, the RNC says, Republicans must re-brand their message to accommodate younger, more diverse and more moderate voters.
But some on the right are criticizing the report for propping up the establishment branch of the conservative party, suggesting that the report — particularly its recommendation to shorten the primary season and eliminate some debates — will allow richer candidates to dominate populist-style candidates like Rep. Ron Paul and his son, Sen. Rand Paul.
