FUNDRAISER FEEDS TERMINALLY-ILL PATIENTS

Three hundred Denver and Boulder-area restaurants will participate in the “Dining Out for Life” fundraiser Thursday, April 25. Participating restaurants will donate 25 percent of the day’s food sales to Project Angel Heart, a food delivery service for Coloradans suffering from disease.

Each week, Project Angel Heart delivers free meals to over 800 Colorado residents suffering from life-threatening diseases like HIV. Started in 1991 with a single pan of donated lasagna, the organization delivered over 445,581 free meals to 1,950 people in 2012. More than 8,800 volunteers donated their time last year to help prepare and deliver the meals.

Find a list of participating restaurants for breakfast, lunch or dinner at www.projectangelheart.org.

CORK RESTAURANT TO HOST WINE TASTING DINNER

A wine tasting dinner featuring California winery Ridge Vineyards will be held at 6 p.m. April 23 at the Boulder Cork. Ridge Vineyards is co-hosting the event with the steakhouse.

A representative from Ridge will guide a limited number of diners through several wines. Each wine will be paired with dishes prepared by Chef Jim Smailer, who recently celebrated 31 years as chef of the Cork. Seating is limited and requires reservations.

LUCKY’S MARKET TO HOLD “EARTH DAY PRIZE WALK”

Shoppers at Lucky’s Market in North Boulder on April 22 can win environmentally-friendly prizes just by standing around. Several Planet Earths will be taped to the floor of the store. If you stand on an Earth, and that Earth’s number is called, you win an eco-friendly prize. The game will last all day.

Lucky’s, a locally-owned grocery store specializing in all things fresh, natural, organic and local, will also offer a 20 percent discount on all bulk products all day.
