Streaming video has provided massive access to content for the average person, but it is not without its issues. Hiccuping streams from dodgy internet connections are the bane of any good binge-watch marathon. But before pining too hard for the lost days of video stores, know that a FOX affiliate in Greenville South Carolina is reporting that after 9 years on the lam, the city’s most nefarious villain is finally in custody. The charge? An overdue VHS rental of Monster in Law, starring Jennifer Lopez.

From the article…

According to warrants [Kayla] Finely rented Monster-In-Law from Dalton Video, which is no longer in business, in 2005 and the tape was not returned within 72 hours.

Finley was sent letters to return the video several times but never
responded, according to the warrant. It also said a certified warrant
was sent to the woman on Sept. 12, 2005.

Darth Finely, or Overdue Finely if you prefer, wrote on FOX’s Facebook page to tell her tragicomic side of the story. “I went to the police station to press charges of harassment and
stalking,” she said. “Not once did I ever receive anything regarding this, if I had
it would have been taken care of immediately.”

That extra commercial break on Hulu suddenly doesn’t seem so bad.
