Northern Italian cuisine offers the backdrop for a fundraising dinner for Slow Food Boulder, which will take place at Arugula Bar e Ristorante on Tuesday, March 2, at 6:30 p.m.

Arugula emphasizes simple, local ingredients produced under environmentally friendly practices, and Slow Food is an international movement that aims to connect people with their local food communities.

The dinner will include a five-course menu featuring tilapia, pork and beef, all of which are easy to source in Colorado at this time of year, as well as cellar vegetables harvested in the fall or canned in-house last September. Each course will be paired with Colorado wines.

Cost is $55 per person for Slow Food members, and $65 per person for non-members. All proceeds go toward Slow Food programs.

Prepayment is required; to reserve, send e-mail to Pamela@essenzacomm.com. Seats are confirmed upon receipt of a check made out to Slow Food Boulder and mailed to Mary Johnson, 787 Meadow Glen Dr., Boulder, CO, 80303. The deadline is Feb. 25.
