Denver’s Big Air event on Tuesday night certainly lived up to the name.

Fourteen teams of three competitors squared off in the Nature Valley Battle of the Brands event, with Team Armada emerging victorious.

Each team sent three skiers down the 106-foot ramp located in the heart of downtown Denver, in Civic Center Park, to the amazement of more than 10,000 spectators.

Team Armada, the champions of the night, battled Line Skis to the end, and the “Best Trick of the Night” award went to John Spriggs, a Colorado native from Vail, for his double-cork 1260 mute grab.

Switchfoot also held a concert between the qualifying rounds and semi-finals.

Anyone who missed out on seeing the big jumps and bigger wipeouts has another chance tonight, Jan. 26, at the LG FIS Snowboarding World Cup.  The event goes from 5 to 10 p.m., and OneRepublic will be on stage between the qualifying and final rounds. Tickets will be available at the event.
