Face punch

On Friday, May 20, a 31-year-old man was arrested by the
Boulder Police Department for second- and third-degree assault charges,
according to the Boulder Police. The man who was arrested allegedly punched a
victim in the face multiple times, leaving the male victim seriously injured,
according to the report.

Butt head

The Boulder Police Department arrested a man on Friday, May
20, after he allegedly head-butted a bartender in the 1900 block of 13th
Street. The man faces charges of third-degree assault and trespassing, and
alcohol is believed to be involved, according to police.

Bleeding man

A man said he was stabbed and was found bleeding near 28th
and Frontage Road on Saturday, May 21, according to the Boulder Police. The
police report that the man was uncooperative with officers beyond claiming
injury and are continuing to investigate the incident.

Squirrel shooting

A man riding his bike near the area of 15th Street and
Euclid on May 22 reported to police that an object hit a sign near him,
prompting police to investigate the area for discharge of some type of weapon,
according to police. Two 20-year-old men were cited for discharging firearms
after a male admitted to shooting at squirrels, according to the Boulder Police
Department.

Police veteran
retires

Cmdr. Dwight Hill will be celebrating his retirement after
34 years of service in the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, according to a news
release. The release reports that Hill received many awards and commendations
during his time with the Sheriff’s Office, including Boulder County Sheriff’s
Office Employee of the Month in May 1997, Jail Employee of the Month in 1998
and the Sheriff’s Office Meritorious Service Medal in 2007. A reception will be
held at the Spice of Life Events Center at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25. Cmdr.
Doug Caven will be promoted to Hill’s former position.
