Innisfree caters to save poetry

Innisfree Poetry Bookstore & Café recently catered its first event, providing coffee and baked goods for a seminar in the geography department at the University of Colorado Boulder.

The store — one of the few remaining poetry bookstores in the country — will cater to groups of 50 people or less as a way to keep poetry alive in Boulder. When catering events, Innisfree will provide fairtrade Conscious Coffees in addition to organic scones, muffins, bagels, cookies, pastries, salads and sandwiches.

To contact Innisfree regarding catering, email the store at innisfreepoetry@gmail.com, or call 303- 570-1644.

The Kitchen seeds school gardens

The Kitchen [Next Door] has launched a “Community Day” program, and every Monday, all proceeds from kid’s meal purchases will be donated to the gardens of regional schools.

The program is based on the success of The Kitchen’s Monday “Community Night.”

The remainder of the week, The Kitchen [Next Door] will donate $2 for every kid’s meal sold to the same garden fund.

The Kitchen and the Growe Foundation have partnered on 14 Boulder Valley School District elementary school gardens over the past seven years, and they aim to have a garden in every school.
