New Slaughterhouse album a test for rap supergroup, producer Eminem

When Welcome to Our House, the sophomore album from rap supergroup Slaughterhouse, drops Aug. 28, it’ll be a test in many ways.

The biggest, of course, is that it’s an investment of time and energy for several emerging independent rappers with promising careers. Composed of Joe Budden, Royce da 5’9″, Crooked I and Joell Ortiz, Slaughterhouse most certainly earns the title “supergroup.” And while the artists say just getting signed to the record label of rap superstar Eminem is enough of an honor, a weak performance of Welcome to Our House would not bode well for the careers.

For Eminem, meanwhile, it’s an early test for Shady Records and his career as a producer.
