Fishermen in the Amazon found an orphaned baby manatee in the river, floating near his mother’s dead body. The fishermen took him in and brought him to Friends of the Manatee, or AMPA, a Brazilian group dedicated to preserving the massive mammals. They’ve nursed him back to health and are ready to release him to the wild soon.
