Yes, your cell phone contains toxins

It doesn’t matter how clean and futuristic the design is. Every single cell phone in a recent study was found to contain toxic chemicals.

Lead, bromine, chlorine, mercury or cadmium were found in all 36 models of cell phones taken apart in a recent study by the Ecology Center in Ann Arbor, Mich.

And those chemicals do not just go away when old cell phones are thrown away or recycled. At recycling centers in China, where standards aren’t always kept for how e-waste is disposed of, those chemicals are found in levels 10 to 100 times above the usual level.
