Auto Dealer — New

LARRY H. MILLER BOULDER TOYOTA
2465 48th Court, 888-699-0552

Second Place: Fisher Auto
Third Place: Gebhardt BMW
Fourth Place: Flatirons Imports
Fifth Place: Valley Nissan

Any
business owner will tell you how rare positive reviews are. And standup
comedians have been telling us for 20 or 30 years how painful and
frustrating it is to buy a car.

Those two facts make the reviews of this category’s top vote-getters all the more impressive. Customers of Larry H. Miller Boulder Toyota rave
about the service at the dealership, including the “extremely courteous
and helpful” staff — or, depending on who you ask, the “fantastic” or
“great” staff. Buying from Gebhardt BMW, meanwhile, is the “Best car
purchase ever!” and a trip to Fisher Auto is “amazing” and “excellent.”
Standup comedians better find some new material.

Auto Dealer — Used

BLUE SPRUCE AUTO SALES
3200 28th St. #1, Boulder, 303-938-0580

Second Place: Flatirons Imports
Third Place: Green Eyed Motors
Fourth Place: Smooth Motors

Our readers have decided that Blue Spruce Auto Sales is
the best place to replace your clunker with something younger. There’s
no better place in town to get a used Subaru, the true delineator of
Boulder street cred, and all used cars come with a warranty for repair
that lasts 12,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first.

Auto Service/Repair

HOSHI MOTORS
2504 Spruce St., 303-449-6632

Second Place: Super Rupair
Third Place: Boulder Bump Shop
Fourth Place: Green Garage
Fifth Place: Pellman’s

When
your car stops purring its way up the highway and the sound starts to
take on a disconcerting clunk — or maybe you’re into, you know,
preventive care and just want an oil change — you can turn your wheels
toward Hoshi Motors, which has been fixing up cars in Boulder for
almost 30 years. A born and bred Boulder favorite, Hoshi Motors
specializes in the maintenance and repair of Hondas, Acuras, Toyotas
and, of course, Subarus.

Super
Rupair, which took second place this year, is an independent Subaru
repair company that has been fixing up Boulder Subies since 1979.

Tire Store

DISCOUNT TIRE
3215 28th St., 303-440-6811

Second Place: Barnsley Tire Co.
Third Place: Big O Tires
Fourth Place: The Tire Source
Fifth Place: Peerless Tyre Co.

From
the looks of our voting, there is more to tires than just being black,
round things hooked to the bottom of your car. This year’s winner, Discount Tire, apparently
has a sizable following of fans who think that the company’s service
is just as important as the products it sells. Words like “rotation”
and “balance” were blended with “friendly” and “knowledgeable” so often
it seemed to form a new sort of language that could have been applied
as easily to dancers as tires. But we figured with a name like Discount
Tire, there probably hasn’t been a good dance performance there in
years. Second-place finisher Barnsley Tire Co. also had its share of
kind words. So next time you need some new rubber, do what our readers
do, dance your way on down to Discount Tire.
