Boulder’s coolest mid-week happy hours have returned with the reopening of the Wednesday night edition of the Boulder County Farmers’ Market in Boulder for the season. More than 20 farm stands will be dishing early season crops and the beer garden features ales from Sanitas Brewing, FATE Brewing and other locals.

Luckily, 13 vendors will be serving international fare including newcomers Cafe Aion, Thrive and Zeal. Another rookie, Seeds Library Café, boasts a locally sourced menu including a kale and pear salad and a chicken causa. The venerable Amaizing Tamales booth is dishing a steamed pistachio tamale, Savory Saigon has beef pho washed down with iced maté from Rincon Argentino.


The Colorado Chocolate Festival is May 7 at the Denver Mart serving tastes of everything from truffles to chocolate martinis ( … Boulder’s other contribution to national holidays (besides National Pie Day, January 23) is National Homebrew Day (this year May 7), celebrated by the locally based American Homebrewers Association.
