Boulder County and Xcel Energy have teamed up with the cities of Boulder and Longmont to give Boulder County residents new ways to be energy-efficient.

EnergySmart: Your Efficiency Solutions, is a new service announced Jan. 26 that reduces costs and offers financial incentives for efficiency upgrades in addition to the rebates currently offered by Boulder, the state and Xcel.

To make the most of these incentives, each customer is assigned an Energy Advisor who handles many of the details of implementing projects, like identifying opportunities to become more efficient, selecting contractors, filling out rebate paperwork and securing financing.

Through this program, homeowners can receive a rebate of up to $250 by implementing recommended projects, and a low-interest micro-loan of up to $3,000 for efficiency projects.

Businesses can receive a rebate of up to $5,000 for lighting, while funds last, and new opportunities will be launched in April. More than 30 businesses across Boulder County are already taking advantage of the rebates.
