Errant arrow lands in window
Officers charged a 19-year-old male with negligently shooting a bow on Thursday, Jan. 14, after a groundskeeper at the Belle Vista Academy was nearly hit by an errant arrow.
The arrow lodged in a window frame.
The archer came over to apologize once he realized the arrow, launched from his home in the 2700 block of Colorado Avenue, had gone over the fence.
Another pot dispensary break-in
Police responded to a burglary at a medical marijuana dispensary in the Table Mesa Wellness Center in the 4700 block of Table Mesa Drive at about 12:40 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 15.
Officers were dispatched because of an intrusion alarm. When they arrived, they discovered that someone had attempted to break into the business. It does not appear that anything was taken.
The case remains under investigation.
Child cyclist hit by car
Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred on Friday, Jan. 15.
A 9-year-old boy was hit by a car at about 8:20 a.m. while riding his bicycle to school. The incident occurred on 19th Street between Walnut and Pearl streets.
A young female driver in a dark green sedan hit the child while pulling out of an alley. The driver stopped and backed up, but she did not get out of the car or report the accident to police.
When the child got to school, he was shaken up and complaining of what are believed to be minor injuries.
He was released to the care of his parents. The case remains under investigation.
Swastikas spray-painted on building
According to a Jan. 19 report, police are investigating a graffiti report after owners of a Gunbarrel building in the 6600 block of Lookout Road discovered swastikas spray-painted on two exterior walls.
One of the owners of the building is Jewish, but it is not clear whether the vandal knew that.
The walls have been the target of other non-anti-Semitic graffiti in the past.
The case remains open.
Stolen car, muddy footprints
A Boulder County woman whose vehicle was recently stolen from the Target store at 28th and Pearl streets reported on Wednesday, Jan. 20, that she is now concerned that her home is being targeted for burglary.
According to a Boulder County Sherriff’s Office report, the woman found a pair of muddy footprints outside the front door of her residence on Jan. 17. Officers took photos of the shoe prints and conducted a canvass of the neighborhood.
The case is still under investigation.
Man tries to steal snowplow blade
According to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, a Boulder County man reported that someone tried to steal the blade from his snowplow sometime between Jan. 6 and Jan. 15.
An adjustable wrench was found at the scene and taken as evidence.
