Fire at the Oak at Fourteenth restaurant contained

City of Boulder firefighters contained a fire Wednesday at the two-story building housing the Oak at Fourteenth restaurant, at 1400 Pearl St. 

Investigators believe the fire started inside the restaurant, then spread to other areas of the two-story building. The fire did not spread to adjacent businesses and no one inside the building was injured. It started around 10:30 a.m.

The Pearl Street Mall was closed to pedestrian traffic between 14th and
16th streets. Fourteenth Street was closed to vehicular traffic between
Spruce and Walnut Streets.

Boulder Fire Department received aid from the Lafayette Fire Department, Louisville Fire Department, Mountain View Fire Department and Boulder Rural Fire Department.

Oak at Fourteenth opened on Nov. 15 and offers upscale takes on American food.
