On Feb. 7, Boulder city police officers arrested a 26-year-old Broomfield man on charges of second-degree assault.

The suspect is accused of punching a male victim in the head after a verbal dispute, causing broken facial bones.

The incident happened at Boulder Community Hospital. Both the victim and the suspect were patients there.

Spate of scratched cars

Boulder police are investigating a series of criminal mischief cases that occurred sometime the night of Feb. 4, possibly the early morning hours of Feb. 5.

Fourteen vehicles in an alley that runs along the 700 and 800 blocks of Arapahoe Avenue were scratched and damaged.

Robbed at knifepoint

Police are investigating a report of a robbery that occurred in the early hours of Feb. 6.

A 20-year-old male victim told police that two Hispanic males with black hooded sweatshirts confronted him at knifepoint at about 1:30 a.m. while he was walking in the 1600 block of 17th Street.

According to the victim, the men demanded money, stole his cell phone, punched him and kicked him repeatedly.

The victim contacted police several hours later to report the incident. The case remains open.
