Microsoft’s energy management application available to Xcel customers

Starting today, Xcel Energy customers have access to
Microsoft’s new energy management application, Hohm, which is geared to help make
homes more efficient and cut down on energy bills.

The application, available in beta release, is available for
free online at www.microsoft.hohm.com.
It offers personalized tips for saving energy and recommendations for lowering
their impact on the environment.

“Customers will be able to interact with Xcel Energy using
the Hohm product,” Rajeev Purohit, manager, eBusiness management for Xcel
Energy said in a press release. “The product will give our customers the
ability to look at their energy consumption history, understand how they use
energy and get customized recommendations.”

The product comes with an option for customers to share their
individual energy-usage data.
