Local nonprofit bookkeeper suspected of theft, forgery

A bookkeeper for Impact On Education, a nonprofit organization, was arrested by Boulder police on Jan. 23 on suspicion of theft and forgery.

Police claim that Diana Lynn Lewis allegedly stole approximately $160,000 from the organization over the course of several years. She is expected to be charged with theft over $20,000, which is a class 3 felony, and several counts of forgery, a class 5 felony. Lewis is being held at the Boulder County Jail, according to a Boulder police statement issued Sunday.
Boulder police said they will not be releasing any additional information about this case, as the investigation is continuing.

Those submitting tips through Crime Stoppers that lead to the arrest and filing of charges on suspects may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
